Group Therapy

Please call our office staff for more information on times and starting dates for the following groups. Group Therapy is covered by most insurance companies including Medical Assistance.

DBT Group Therapy for Women

This Group will address the following: mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships and distress tolerance skills.

Coping With the Turmoil of Adolescence
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy group to address issues which many teens struggle with, including conflict resolution, independence, self-esteem, assertiveness, and focuses on improving peer and family relationships.

Men’s Issues for Real Men
A therapy group designed to assist men in improving communication skills, expressing empathy, resolving conflicts without withdrawal or aggression, and in exploring the full range of their personal potential as a mate.

Adjusting to a Family Separation or Divorce
Children & Teen Groups
A group therapy experience for children who are struggling with the loss of living with an intact family. Group is designed to accept change without blame, process loss, assertively address conflicts, and to move forward positively. Separate groups offered for different age groups.

Adult Group-For Men & Women
Processing loss, accepting change, co-parenting, and other individual and family issues faced by adults going through a relationship break-up.

Chronic Pain Management
The Chronic Pain Management Group offered at Croix Counseling and Psychology is a supportive and behavioral therapy group for individuals whose daily lives consist of coping with the distress of chronic pain. The focus of the group is for individuals to take an active role in their own care and work toward a better quality of life when dealing with physical changes.

The purpose of the goal-oriented 8 week group is to address the following topics:
•    Having a supportive group environment with others who are encountering similar challenges
•    Exploring the physical and emotional components of pain management
•    Teaching improved coping skills (i.e. healthy eating, exercise, relaxation)
•    Learning how to communicate with others to obtain support for their chronic pain
•    Processing loss and acceptance of chronic pain

 

Assessment and Psychological Evaluation

At Croix Counseling and Psychology, we offer psychological assessments/evaluations for diagnostic clarification and to aid in treatment planning. Assessments are provided for children (ages 6 and older), adolescents, and adults.

The following evaluations are offered: ADHD/ADD Assessments, Diagnostic Assessments, Anger Management Assessments and other disorders related to developmental delays/spectrum disorder assessments.
